Almost simultaneously I was struck by a  heartbreaking revelation. This is how my son and my entire family, see me!

I would be lying if I were to tell you that my reaction to my revelation was anything other than sitting perfectly still on my sofa, frozen really, jaw agape, with a shocked expression on my face.
